Back Cute Kids 2011 Rules:To enter this sweepstakes you can pick up an entry form and voting ballots at The Daily News, Iron Mountain office or print a copy on out website. Information asked on the entry form will include the child's name, address, and phone number of person entering the child and your relationship to that child. You will also need to read the disclaimer agreeing you are the legal guardian of the child and are giving The Daily News permission to submit the child's photo. Voting ballots will include voter name, address, and phone number along with contestant name and voting number. There is not a limit to the amount of votes per child but we are ask for a 25 cent donation per vote cast. Also, with your entry form please include a good quality, current, photo of the child entered in the sweepstakes. Photos can be either black and white or in color but at least 3x5 in size. The Daily News reserves the right to refuse any photo we deem to be of an unsuitable nature. By entering a photo you are accepting that you are the child's legal guardian and have permission to submit the photo. Children must be fully clothed in the photo and the photo must not have copyright provisions, (ex. Photo studios normally have full rights to your photos.) Photos submitted will be cropped to emphasize the child's face in the photo. You are then giving The Daily News permission to submit your and your child's information in our sweepstakes. Daily News and Powers Printing employees and their immediate family are exempt from winning the sweepstakes. Photos must be current and of a child between the ages of birth through age nine. Sorry, no "In memoriam" photos will be accepted. Please only submit one photo per child, one child per photo. If you have multiple children that you would like to enter, please include a separate photo and entry form per child. Photos can also be submitted on-line on The Daily News website by clicking the Cute Kid icon. When you submit your child's photo on-line, please note the disclaimer that states you agree you are the child's guardian and you are giving permission to The Daily News to display the photo. There is no fee to enter a photo in our sweepstakes. Photos can be picked up at The Daily News office at the end of the sweepstakes. Photos, entry forms, and ballots being mailed in must be mailed to: To view the entrants for the NIE Cute Kids, you must log on to The Daily News website at www.ironmountaindailynews.com . Here you will be able to click on The Cute Kid link to view the contestants and print a voting ballot. However, you will not be able to vote for your favorite kid on-line. All voting ballots and donations must be sent in or dropped off to The Daily News Iron Mountain office. Or you can call into the office with a debit or credit card to place your votes. There is no limit to the amount of votes per child per ballot, but remember to include 25 cents for each vote cast. No voting ballots and donations will be accepted via fax or email. They must be received by mail or dropped off at the office by the submission dates. However, you may call the office with a debit or credit card to place your votes. Although you may submit votes before the sweepstakes rounds begin, they will not be posted until the official voting rounds begin. The sweepstakes will consist of three voting rounds. All contestants will be included in the first round, each consecutive round will eliminate half of the contestants with the lowest amount of votes. You must have votes to be eligible to move on to the next round. The half of the contestants with the highest amount of votes will go on to the next round. Votes will zero out at the beginning of each consecutive round. Each contestant going on to the next round will start with zero votes. At the end of each round remaining entrants will be posted on-line along with a printable voting ballot. Additional ballots will be available at both Daily News offices. Please allow at least one business day between rounds for updated posts. Prizes will be awarded to the first three top vote getters. The first place winner will receive $200 in savings bonds and be featured on the front cover of an edition of The Daily News. 2nd place winner will receive a $100 savings bond, and 3rd place will receive a $50 savings bond. Odds of winning the sweepstakes are not pre-determined. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of votes cast per participant. You must be 18 years or older and the legal guardian of the child in the photo submitted. The Daily News is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail containing entry forms and ballots. The liability limit of the Daily News is $364.85, the combined value of all the sweepstakes prizes. This sweepstakes is void where prohibited. Please allow at least one business day between rounds for updates of kids moving on to the next round. At the end of the third round please allow up to one week for announcement of the winners. Winners will be contacted by phone and also posted on the website. Each winners’ guardian gives permission to The Daily News to publish their name and likeness for promotional purposes. Winners will have one week from the date they are contacted, to claim their prizes. Prizes must be picked up at The Iron Mountain Daily News office. Unclaimed prizes may be used by The Daily News for future projects. In the event of a tie, a tie breaker will be made by employees of The Daily News. All decisions are then final.
